Second Grade Fall Activities!
In reading the children are working on cloze activities to help them in the Reading Assessment DRP. This assessment demonstrates reading comprehension. This skill helps them become better readers. The children are also reading poems to work on their fluency. Daily reading is encouraged to help your child become a confident and fluent reader.
The topics this fall in math will be: reviewing number and time concepts, addition and subtraction strategies and measurement and geometry.
In Science we will begin with insects.
Spelling will center around sight words with an emphasis on math and science concept words.
